Ft. Collins' St. Patties Day Parade No More.

In a surprising announcement made today, the Ft. Collins St. Patrick's Day has been "retired. The Downtown Fort Collins Business Association news release sent today said. "Recent tragedies at parades and gatherings throughout the world have forced responsible event organizers to implement enhanced best-practice preventative measures, which in turn, naturally drives up the costs of producing a parade. What was once a sleepy small town gathering has evolved into a complicated large-scale production." Unfortunately that means that there will be NO 2019 Parade as previously scheduled. From a radio stand point, we LOVED this Parade.. So may great memories over the years and we can't thanks the DBA enough for allowing us to be a part of this amazing tradition for so may years.

Instead of the St. Patrick's Day parade, the DBA will host the "Oak Street Shamrock Festival" from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 16. This will be a alcohol-free festival with live music and activities in Oak Street Plaza. Not quite the parade we all loved so much, but at least it's something fun to do with the family.

Thanks for the Memories!
