These Types of Dogs are TWICE as Likely to Get Heat Stroke

PUG

It’s going to be a hot weekend in Denver, so this is super important to keep in mind!!

Flat-faced dogs such as bulldogs, pugs and French bulldogs are twice as likely to suffer from heat stroke.

Researchers found that flat faces made it almost impossible for the dogs to cool down. Dogs do not sweat like humans and therefore rely heavily on panting to lower their body temperature.

And the researchers say having a short and wide head makes this process far less effective, making it more likely for the dogs to suffer from heat stroke.

Pass along to your dog owner friends!
