I've flown out of DIA dozens of times and I always forget about the one thing keeping me from the gate area. The train:(
I love Alan Roach's stern warning to "stand clearing of the closing doors" but hate how infrequently the trains actually run. 3 minutes seems like an eternity when security took 30 mins and you've been felt up. So while the additional construction in the "Great Hall" is annoying and I can't get a Jamba Juice while I wait for loved ones to arrive (Yes, I actually go into the airport to pick up visitors) I welcome the additional trains and yes, I still like being at the gate 2 hours early. It's a comfort thing. The trains will get me nowhere faster.
